Trikonasana is one of the most complete and beneficial poses in the entire sequence. Actually, there are two poses: a 'straight' one and an 'inverted' one. The first is called Utthita Trikonasana, while the second is Parivrtta Trikonasana.
If you find it difficult, it is perfectly normal; transforming our bodies takes time and perseverance. So, don't get discouraged: I assure you that it is just a matter of practice.
