I practiced with Acharya MV Chidananda for two seasons in Mysore, and I can say he is a perfectionist of adjustments, alignments, and breathing. Among all the teachers I practiced with in different countries and continents, Chidananda is on the podium. His shala can host a maximum of 16 people for each batch, meaning that he strictly pays attention to his students, and they can get several adjustments directly from him. In addition, Chidananda's shala is open almost all year, giving students the opportunity to have a deep and continuous practice with him. If you really want to master the series, taking care of all details such as proper alignment and jumping, Chidananda is definitely the right teacher for you. His video interview is on top of this page.
Acharya MV Chidananda was initiated into yoga by his father. He has been practicing yoga for about 30 years under the guidance of his father, Shankar Narayan Jois, and Guru BNS Iyengar, a pupil of Sri T. Krishnamacharya. He began his practice at the age of 8 and has competed in state and national-level programs and been awarded various prizes. He also has been facilitated twice as 'Best Sports Man' of the year for his asanas practice, by the Mysore State Independence Committee. He completed his Graduation in Bachelor of Science (BSc) through Mysore University.
